Dormer Pramet R457 N5 CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK COOLANT FEED SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

Introducing the Dormer Pramet R457 N5 carbide drill, a TiAlN-coated Force-X tool designed for a compact, short-series (X3D) profile with a stepped shank and coolant feed. Built to DIN 6537 K standards, this drill is ideal for engineers, fabricators, tradespeople, and serious hobbyists who demand reliable, precise holes across a range of metals.

This drill features a 140-degree four-facet split point for self-centering entry, reducing wander and the push force required to start cutting. The premium carbide core delivers strong, consistent performance, while the TiAlN coating extends tool life and maintains cutting performance on harder materials. A CTW flute design with integrated coolant feed enhances strength, keeps chips under control, and enables higher cutting speeds and feeds for productive hole-making.

• Self-centering 140° four‑facet split point: Starting holes cleanly with less wander and reduced effort, improving first-pass accuracy.
• TiAlN-coated premium carbide: Longer tool life and reliable performance on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel for fewer tool changes.
• CTW flute design with coolant feed: Enhanced rigidity and chip evacuation that support higher speeds and feeds without compromising hole quality.

In practical use, the R457 N5 delivers high-quality, accurate holes (h9 tolerance) even at elevated speeds and feeds, making it a dependable choice for mixed-material workstreams. The stepped shank and short-series design provide stable, repeatable results in compatible holders, helping you reduce downtime and keep production moving smoothly.
