Dormer Pramet R457 41/64 Inch CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK COOLANT FEED SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R457 carbide drill is built for dependable, high-precision drilling across a variety of metals. Its compact short-series design, stepped shank, and through-coolant capability make it a versatile choice for engineers, buyers, tradespeople, hobbyists, and shop floors where reliable hole quality matters.

Key to its performance is the 140° four-facet split point, which self-centers the start and reduces the push force needed to begin a hole. Coupled with a Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN) coating, this drill delivers longer edge life and sustained performance when machining tougher materials, so you can drill more holes between tool changes.

• 140° 4‑Facet Split Point: Self-centering starts reduce wandering and push force, enabling cleaner, more accurate holes from the first cut.
• TiAlN Coating for Extended Life: Hard-wearing coating protects cutting edges, boosts wear resistance, and improves performance on harder materials for longer tool life.
• CTW Flute Design with Through-Coolant & Stepped Shank (DIN 6537 K): Advanced flute geometry paired with coolant delivery supports higher speeds and feeds, while the stepped shank and DIN 6537 K compatibility ensure secure, dependable mounting in standard toolholders.

This high-performance drill is capable of delivering high-quality, accurate holes at elevated speeds while working with steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. The combination of premium carbide, through-coolant capability, and robust flute design helps reduce downtime, improve hole consistency (H9 tolerance), and streamline production workflows—delivering reliable results you can count on in both demanding and everyday applications.
