Dormer Pramet R457 6.40 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK COOLANT FEED SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R457 6.40 mm carbide drill is a high-performance tool built for professionals and dedicated hobbyists who demand fast, precise holemaking. It features a 140° four-facet split point for self-centering starts, a TiAlN coating for extended wear life, and a Force-X stepped shank that adds rigidity and stability in every cut.

With a short-series design and coolant-fed flute geometry, it maintains strength at higher speeds and feeds, improves chip evacuation, and supports tougher materials. This drill is suitable for drilling steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, delivering consistent, high-quality holes with tight h9 tolerance when used with compatible equipment. The DIN 6537 K shank ensures reliable compatibility with common chucks and holders, making it a dependable choice for production or job-site work.

• 140° four-facet split point: Self-centering starts reduce wandering and minimize push force for clean, accurate hole entry.
• TiAlN coating for longer life: Increases tool life and performance, especially when drilling harder materials, by reducing wear and heat.
• Coolant-fed short-series flute design: Delivers better rigidity, higher speeds/feeds, and improved chip evacuation for reliable, fast holemaking.

By choosing this drill, you gain consistent hole quality, reduced rework, and a faster production cadence across common metals. The TiAlN coating and robust flute design help you push for higher productivity without sacrificing accuracy, while the short-series, Force-X shank improves stability in tight setups. The result is dependable performance from start to finish, with holes held to h9 tolerance and compatibility with standard DIN 6537 K holders.
